Questions

Questions about Steady As.

I don't need an app on the water.

You don't use it, you glance at it. Cast off, then forget it's there until you want a number.

I already have a plotter.

Good. Keep it. Steady As is on your wrist when you're at the bow, and it remembers every trip.

My chart app does this.

Chart apps tell you where to go. Steady As tells you how it's going, and keeps the record. Use both.

Is Steady As a Strava for boating?

No, and that's on purpose. No feed, no followers, no leaderboard, no account. Steady As keeps your own logbook: every trip on a map, your sea miles, your season, the flags you hoisted. Nobody to beat. Share a picture when you want to. Each trip exports as GPX, so you can take it anywhere.

I don't want another social app.

Neither do we. No feed, no followers, no leaderboard. It's your logbook. Share a flag if you like.

Is it accurate?

Course and speed come from the GPS in your watch or phone, smoothed so the numbers are calm. Course is true, not magnetic.

What is Mark for?

Saving a spot you want to find again: an anchorage, a fishing spot, a buoy to round. One press saves the boat's position and the arrow points back to it. It calls nobody and is not a safety device.

What does it do with my data?

Nothing. No account, no data collected. Your trips stay on your devices and your own iCloud.

Another subscription?

No. One purchase covers watch and iPhone: €14.99.
